Main Street Merriment in Downtown Murray
It's the time of the year where the magic of Christmas is sprinkled in every corner of downtown Murray. Holiday excitement is on the rise, and this year we have a few new additions up our sleeve for Murray Main Street's annual event, Main Street Merriment, sponsored by Kenlake Foods. Here's a list of what to expect during the weekend of December 6-8!
For the first time in Murray history, community members are invited to bring their friends and family to join us on the ice! The Murray Bank Ice Skating Rink will be open for three days, December 6-8 at the intersection of 5th and Maple Street. Skaters are welcome to skate for a full hour with a small fee of $10. Skates are included in the fee and spots are limited. Times are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Register here to reserve your time on the ice!
Continuing throughout the weekend is the Holiday Farmers Market. Vendors from the Downtown Murray Farmers Market gather during this weekend to sell their baked goods and handcrafted items just in time for the holiday shopping season. The market will be in two locations this year, 412 Main Street and 109 S. 4th Street. Vendors will be set up from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14.
Main Street Merriment officially begins at 5:30 p.m. with the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree. Locals gather around, singing carols and await the tree to illuminate the corner of 5th and Maple St. on the courthouse lawn.
