We are nearing the end of the school year which means….summer is coming and kids camps begin! As we researched events for the upcoming months, we noticed SO MANY youth camps happening this summer. Here’s a collection of camps we gathered, but make sure to sign up quick! Many registration deadlines are in the middle of May!

Rechelle Turner Basketball Camps
Join Head Coach, Rechelle Turner and the Murray State Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff as they host basketball camps and clinics throughout the summer!

Head MSU Soccer Coach, Matt Lodge and his coaching staff, are excited to bring back soccer camps this summer for players of all ages and abilities! Throughout the camp, players will learn the necessary technical and tactical methods while in a positive environment that encourages the developmental skills to be a successful soccer player.

Fun with Economics: A Summer Camp for High Schoolers
At its core, economics is the study of how individuals, groups, and nations manage and use scarce resources. Students who attend this camp will not only gain the knowledge needed to better understand complex economic markets, but they will also come away with stronger analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the business acumen necessary to succeed in the professional world.

The goal of this camp is to write for FUN! Young authors will practice many writing styles (poetry, fiction, true stories, essays, skits, etc.) under the direction of experienced teachers from the region, who are excited to coach, instruct, and lead budding authors.

Summer Art Workshop - Murray State
Summer Art Workshop is for both first-timers and experienced artists. Jump into hands-on seminars, visit galleries, and participate in fun art-related activities in the evenings. At the end of the week, family and friends are invited to see your works displayed in a gallery during our closing ceremony.

Registration Deadline: May 12
VAC will immerse, encourage and educate you in musicianship and healthy vocal production. No previous vocal training required. Attend voice instruction, acting and movement workshops and music literacy classes. Perform a mixture of solo, chamber and choral music on the final day. We invite friends and family to join us for this performance.

Racer Instrumental Music Academy
Racer Instrumental Music Academy (RIMA) is a week-long summer music camp at Murray State University. Be part of a large concert band and prepare a variety of fun and challenging band literature, culminating with a final Saturday morning showcase concert. Students will improve ensemble performance skills, focusing on intonation, balance, blend, tone quality, and musicianship.

Summer Youth Workshops - Murray Art Guild
The Murray Art Guild has MANY youth workshops throughout the months of June and July! Kids are encouraged to sign up for any of the following:
Silk Screening, Relief Printing, Art of Snail Mail, Paper Crafts, and Drawing workshops still have spots available!
Fresh Squad - Murray Farmers Market Kids Club
The Fresh Squad is a farmers market kids club for children ages 5-12. Started in 2017, the Fresh Squad program focuses on teaching kids how to shop and save money in a controlled environment, while learning about our local produce and market products. This encourages families to shop, cook and work together at the Downtown Farmers Market.
Registration opens May 5. Deadline to apply May 31.
