Explore the Nature Station backyard to find larger than life examples of some of the amazing butterflies and moths found right here in Kentucky! Grab a selfie with one of the critters and turn in your scavenger hunt to earn a fun prize!

10-4 Woodlands Nature Station 6th Annual Butterfly Count
Naturalists and volunteers are in the field collecting data for the North American Butterfly Association. Citizen science projects like as this provide valuable information and help to track the status of species. Stop by our booth to see what species we have found so far, learn how our gardens support butterflies, and pick up a free packet of native flower seeds for your own garden!

Create a colorful butterfly of your own! How will it compare to the real butterflies fluttering about our flowerbeds?

11-12 Butterfly Food Chain
How do butterflies and moths fit into the food chain? Join us for a trip around the Nature Station backyard as we follow the food chain, investigating both the plants eaten by butterflies and moths and the larger animals that eat them!

1-2 Insect Safari
We're going on a safari! With butterfly nets and sweep nets, we'll discover what insects make their home in the prairie. Any Tigers or Zebras we spot can be counted in the North American Butterfly Association Butterfly Count!

3-4 Hosting Butterflies
Learn how to be a good host to butterflies! Take a tour through the Nature Station gardens, learn how to provide for butterflies, and pick up a packet of free native seeds for your home garden!
