Fun learning opportunities are available to homeschoolers at the Woodlands Nature Station this spring! Join a naturalist at our picnic pavilion to explore a different nature topic each month. Every session will include a take home item!
$3/participant (does not include Nature Station admission). Pre-registration is required, and program is limited to 25 participants. Call 270-924-2020 to reserve your spot.
April 14:
This month is all about native bees. - early spring is a great time to prepare for pollinator gardens! Learn about the native bee species found right here in Kentucky and construct a bee house to attract these amazing animals to your own garden!
May 26:
This month is all about nature journaling! Nature journaling is a great way to combine art and science and develop observational skills. Students will be guided through a series of nature exploration activities including an up-close encounter with a snake! Journal and journaling materials provided.
June 23:
This month is all about the butterflies! Homeschoolers can learn identification characteristics of butterflies by painting a replica of a native butterfly. Afterwards we will take our bingo cards and go on a butterfly hike to see how many butterflies we can find!
