Students will experience every part of the ceramic process in this exciting pit fire workshop. Using hand building techniques of pinching, coiling and slab assembly, we will create a variety of forms and experiment with different surface designs. By loading and prepping the pieces for firing, students will see and learn how fire and temperature create different finishes. Day one and two we will work with wet clay in the evening from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Session 1 will meet Mondays and Session 2 will meet Tuesday and both classes will come together for a group pit firing on Saturday, October 22nd, 10am – 3pm.
