Enameling is the process of fusing ground glass to the surface of metal objects. For centuries, it allowed artists to add color and depth to jewelry and reliquaries, as well as add miniature paintings and portraits to their designs.
In this workshop, participants will explore color and mark making while learning the basic techniques of vitreous enamel to create earrings of their own design using readymade kits. For beginners or intermediate. Bring a sack lunch or snack for a break.
Jo Bennett has a studio at the MAG and received a BFA from MSU in 2018. You can follow Jo’s work on Instagram @jbenn_studio.
