MSU Family Weekend


Friday, September 23

8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Gallery Exhibits, 6th Floor Fine Arts Clara M. Eagle Gallery
Exhibits open for viewing. Exhibits are located on the 6th floor of the Fine Arts building and are complimentary. More information at murraystate.edu/artgallery

6:00 pm Volleyball vs. Southern Illinois, Racer Arena
Support the Lady Racers and watch an exciting game at Racer Arena.

7:00 pm Mr. MSU Pageant, CFSB Center
A longstanding favorite event on campus, Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority will host the Mr. MSU Pageant, where Murray State men perform their talents to compete for the crown. Guests may buy tickets at the door for $10 and proceeds will benefit the Arthritis Foundation.

7:30 pm Movie Night with Athletics, Stewart Stadium Enjoy Remember the Titans and time with family at Stewart Stadium. See our famous horse, Racer 1, in attendance. Viewing of the movie is complimentary.

Saturday, September 24
7:15 am Racer 5k, Wellness Center Start your Saturday off right by participating in our Racer 5k! Check-in begins at 7:15 am; Race starts at 8:00 am. Register online prior to the event at www.Racer5k.com. Registration also accepted in person the morning of the event. View cost and registration information online at www.Racer5k.com

9:00 am - 9:00 pm Wellness Center Open to Families, Wellness Center Families and guests are welcome to tour or exercise at Murray State’s 73,000 square foot recreation facility free of charge.

9:30 am - 10:30 am Residential College Reception, Residential College Lobbies
Visit the place where your student lives and/or participates in educational activities and intramural sports while at Murray State and enjoy light breakfast items in the lobbies of the Residential Colleges. The Outstanding Parent/Family Member for each Residential College will also be recognized at each reception. The receptions are complimentary.

9:30 am - 10:30 am Honors College Drop-In, Franklin Residential College Lobby
Honors College families are welcome to stop by the Honors Living Learning Community (LLC) located in the three wings of the Franklin Residential College. Light refreshments will be served. This event is complimentary.

10:00 am – 3:00 pm Fall on the Farm, Murray State Pullen Farm (Corner of 94W & Doran Road)
The annual event is sponsored by the Hutson School of Agriculture and features many fun activities and demonstrations. Concessions, pumpkins, and t-shirts for sale. Admission is $5 per person (cash or check only).

10:00 am - 2:00 pm Burton Family Hall of Champions Tours, CFSB Center, Front Entrance
Walk through the Hall of Champions with your family and learn more about Murray State’s athletic history. Located at the front of the CFSB Center, the Hall of Champions highlights the greatest individuals and championship teams in Racer history. Admission is complimentary.

11:30 am – 1:30 pm Family Lunch, Great Lawn between Alexander Hall & the Science Complex Enjoy a family lunch with Murray State faculty and staff while also taking in Games & more! The event will be held on the Great Lawn between Alexander Hall and the Science Complex and admission requires your purchase of lunch tickets through the Family Weekend registration system prior to the event. *In the case of inclement weather, the Family Lunch will be relocated to Winslow Dining Hall.

12:00-1:00 pm Conversations with University Administration, Great Lawn (during lunch)
Join University President, Dr. Bob Jackson, vice presidents, academic deans and other administrators for informal conversations about the University’s mission, vision, and goals for the future.

12:30 – to 1:30 Fall Fanfare, Lovett Auditorium Fall Fanfare,
A scholarship fundraising concert performed in the manner of a variety show, is a family-friendly musicale for music lovers of all ages. Featuring performances by various student ensembles at Murray State University such as various choirs, percussion ensemble, flute quartet, wind ensemble, jazz combos and more, the show concludes with a special appearance by the Racer Band. You don’t want to miss it! Tickets on sale through the Family Weekend registration system or at the door.

1:45 pm Racer Walk with the Football Team and Racer Band, Curris Center
Cheer on our Racer football team as they prepare to play Eastern Illinois. Greet the team as they walk out of the Curris Center and cheer for their success as we walk towards Stewart Stadium.

1:30 – 3:30 pm Family Weekend Alumni Association Tailgate, Sid Easley Alumni Center Plaza Enjoy time with Racer alumni while enjoying light refreshments and appetizers prior to kickoff. Tickets are one sale through the Family Weekend registration system prior to the event only.

2:30 pm – 4:00 pm Football Ticket Pick-up, Will Call Located at Gate 4, Stewart Stadium
If you pre-registered and haven’t picked up your football tickets, you still have time! These tickets will be available at Will Call, Gate 4 of Stewart Stadium. Note: Kids through College students are admitted to the game for free.

4:00 pm Racer Football vs. Eastern Illinois, Stewart Stadium
Cheer on the Racer Football Team with your family as they face Eastern Illinois! And, Clear the track! For more than 40 years, Racer 1 has been helping fans celebrate touchdowns with a victory lap around the field. Celebrate with us as we recognize the Outstanding Family Members and their student during halftime.

7:30 pm Cinema International Films, Curris Center Theatre (3rd Floor)
Enjoy an international film experience with family in the Curris Center Theatre. Movie: Network (1976) with Faye Dunaway, Robert Duval and William Holden. Viewing of the movie is complimentary. COVID safety rules apply.

7:30 pm Volleyball vs. Missouri State, Racer Arena
Support the Lady Racers and watch an exciting game at Racer Arena.

Sunday, September 25
