The Racer Instrumental Music Academy (RIMA) is a week-long summer music camp on the campus of Murray State University. Students will be part of a large concert band and will prepare a variety of fun and challenging band literature, culminating with a final Saturday morning showcase concert. During daily rehearsals, students will learn to improve ensemble performance skills, focusing on intonation, balance, blend, tone quality, and musicianship.

In addition to participating in the concert band, students will be taught and coached by Murray State music faculty. Students will learn the art of instrumental performance through master classes, music seminars, chamber ensembles, and private lessons.

Students will also get an early taste of college life with the opportunity to live on campus in the dorms and be provided with a full meal plan. Under the guidance of faculty and residential counselors, evening social activities will include swimming, bowling, karaoke night, talent shows, concerts and recitals.
