Argentina 1985 is inspired by a true story. Using a surprisingly humorous tone, the film follows prosecutors Julio Strassera and Luis Moreno Ocampo, who in 1985 dared to investigate with a young legal team of unlikely heroes, those responsible for the bloodiest phase of the Argentine military dictatorship which had fallen only 2 years earlier. The film reconstructs the difficult investigative work and the four-month trial with 833 eyewitnesses and survivors of the horrible repression, allowing Argentine justice to reclaim a long denied right of human rights accountability.

Faculty Hall, Room 208 on Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
