FUN FOR THE KIDS

Ghost Light Walk at Playhouse in the Park

Friday, October 13 (6:30 p.m.)

Playhouse in the Park is hosting their first Ghost Light Walk through the back side of Central Park! Did you know that the theatre is located in an actual Train Depot? Have your ever noticed the old schoolhouse in the park? Family Friendly, but you might get spooked! Entry to the event will be by a donation that goes toward the Murray Calloway County Weaver Challenge for Charities. Tours will start at 6:30, last tour will start at 7:30. Refreshments will be available on the deck while you wait. Hosted by the Box of Frogs!

 

Halloween Party at Miss Kailey’s Dance Studio

Friday, October 13 (6 to 8 p.m.)

Miss Kailey’s Dance Studio is hosting a fundraiser Halloween party on Friday the 13th! Proceeds will support their competitive dance teams. It’s going to be a fun time! There will be no scary costumes or scary themes.

Friday, October 20 (5 to 7 p.m.)

Join Immanuel Lutheran Church for their annual Trunk or Treat, from 5 to 7 p.m.! Come dressed in your best Halloween costume, and enjoy a night of family fun.

Head over to Spring Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their 2nd annual trunk or treat event for kids!

 

Safe Stop Halloween Event at Calloway County Fire Rescue

Saturday, October 28 (5:00 to 8:30 p.m.)

CCFR would like to invite the public out to their 3rd Annual Safe Spot Halloween Event at 101 E. Sycamore St. from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. The entire event is FREE for the public so bring out the kids in their Halloween costumes! Be sure to come hungry. The fire department will provide hot dogs and chili, a cake walk where they will give away lots of goodies, hay rides, and plenty of candy!

 

Halloween Hootenanny at Murray Peddler’s Mall

October 28-29

Stop by Murray Peddler’s Mall for their Halloween Hootenanny! Play fun carnival games, win prizes, get your face painted, and snack away at the popcorn bar. This event is family-friendly, including furry family members! Costumes are encouraged, but not required.

 

Trunk or Treat at the Yates Event Center

Sunday, October 29 (2 p.m.)

The Keg & The Yates Event Center are coming together once again to bring back their Trunk or Treat! Enjoy lots of treats, face painting, cotton candy, bounce houses, fall themed photo booth and so much more. This is a FREE event!

 

Trunk or Treat & Chili Cook Off at Dwain Taylor Chevrolet

Tuesday, October 31 (1 to 5 p.m.)

Candy, costumes and chili… OH MY! Join Dwain Taylor Chevrolet for their 6th annual trunk or treat and chili cook off! Trunk or treat begins at 1 p.m., but don’t forget to taste each chili and vote for your favorite. You’ll need to get there early, the chili goes FAST!

 

Trail of Treats at Murray Central Park

Tuesday, October 31 (5 to 7 p.m.)

Murray Parks in partnership with Froggy 103.7 and Ricky Garland Calloway County Coroner will be hosting Trail of Treats in Central Park from 5-7 P.M. Come join us for FREE candy, a children's costume contest, and LOTS of fun!

 

Trick or Treat at the Calloway County Public Library

Tuesday, October 31 (5:30 to 7:00 p.m.)

Go trick or treating throughout the library! Families with toddlers, tweens, and teens are invited to come dressed in their best Halloween costumes and trick or treat for candy and fun treats in the new library from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

 

ADULTS ONLY EVENTS

OcTUBAween at the MSU Music Department

October 16 & 18 (7:30 p.m.)

For many people, October means pumpkin spice and Halloween. In the Department of Music it means OcTUBAween and OcTUBAfest! OcTUBAfest has been a tradition at Murray State University since 1982! If you absolutely have no idea what a tuba sounds like, curious what a euphonium is, or you're just curious about how low we can go... check-out the Murray State OcTUBAfest and OcTUBAween concerts. It will be a "tubarific '' good time. Come hear the “spooky-good” Murray State Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Todd M. French.

 

Paint-n-Sip at the Keg

Sunday, October 22 (1 p.m.)

When: Sunday, October 22nd @ 1:00pm

Scream-O-Rama at Terrapin Station

Saturday, October 28 (7 p.m.)

Head over to Terrapin Station, located behind Sirloin Stockade, at 7 p.m. for a “cavalcade of horror!” Enjoy performances by DayWaster, Joanie, Brat Tamer, Spunky, Yogurt Momma, Dr. Goose, and Mister Band. Costumes are encouraged, so don’t leave yours at home!

 

Nightmare Before Christmas Adult Prom at The Grove in Murray

Saturday, October 28 (7 p.m. to Midnight)

Make plans to attend a Halloween spin on an adult prom, under the theme “Unleash the Monster in You!” Couples who raise the most money or collect the most toys for Towing for Toys will be crowned king and queen. The night features a costume contest, raffles, a silent auction, photo booth, and more! It’s going to be a spoooooooky time, so get your tickets today!

 

Halloween Party at the Big Apple

Saturday, October 28 (8:30 p.m.)

Enjoy live music and a costume contest at the Big Apple’s Halloween celebration! Firefly kicks off the tunes at 8:30 p.m., and the costume contest starts at 10 p.m. with three categories: men, women, couples. Each category winner gets a $50 cash prize!

 

Brainblast Horror Movie Theme Trivia Night at the Big Apple

Monday, October 30 (7 p.m.)

Time for spooooooky trivia! This free-to-play event will be played on both the bar and dining sides. It takes about an hour and the top three teams will win Big Apple gift cards. Be sure to show up early to get your table! Costumes are encouraged!

Hogwarts Halloween House Cup Challenge at the Woodlands Nature Station

Saturday, October 21 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Calling all wizarding students! It’s time for the Hogwarts House Cup Challenge. Attend classes, create crafts, answer trivia and win points. Can you help your house win the cup? Costumes are encouraged!
