In this political drama based on real events, Saulo, an introverted student and fan of the Black Panther Movement, challenges his school after suffering a racial insult from a classmate, and mobilizes the entire community in the largely white city of Fortaleza. A Bruddah’s Mind reminds us of the importance of activism against racism, misogyny and militarism and the sacrifices that come with political engagement.
