The Murray Art Guild
The Murray Art Guild is our community art center that is a non-profit organization with members including Murray State students and local artists in our region. Free gallery and exhibits are set up at the MAG and in spaces throughout the community yearly. One of the most popular set of events at the MAG are the art workshops. These workshops are open to the public, at any skill level. Bullet journaling, papermaking, watercolors and weaving are just a few examples of the types of classes offered. Creativity is found in every person and the MAG is an amazing environment to curate something special.
The Art Market is a popular stop for visitors wanting to take home a piece of Murray. More than 50 artists display varying types of media for purchase. Everything from handcrafted wood cutting boards to delicate jewelry can be found in the art market. This is the perfect location to find one-of-a-kind gifts.
Playhouse in the Park
Playhouse in the Park is one of the oldest, continuously running community theatres in the country, opening in 1977. Currently housed in a historic train depot, PIP produces an average of 10-12 productions a year, including the Penguin Project which is a specifical programming production for youth with special needs.
Additional programming throughout the season includes the famous Box of Frogs Youth Theatre Group, the Summer Camp Production and the Playhouse After Dark series.
Clara M. Eagle Gallery
Located on Murray State University’s campus, the Clara Gallery is a stunning, multi-level exhibition gallery displaying a variety of mediums from Murray State students and faculty yearly.
