A Sense-Less Spaghetti Dinner: A Blind Dining Experience

  • Murray First United Methodist Church 200 South 5th Street Murray, KY, 42071 United States (map)

Mark your calendars! The Murray Lions Club is hosting a spaghetti dinner...with a twist! This will be a "dining in the dark" experience, which means that you'll eat blindfolded. There will be 1-2 sighted people at each table to provide verbal instructions, but you won't know who is blind and who is sighted until you get there.

As you know, one of the primary missions of the Lions Club is promoting vision health, and this dinner is intended to raise awareness for just how difficult it is to live life with vision impairment. There will be activity stations set up (a big thanks to the Kentucky School for the Blind!) to experience low vision, braille, and a mobility cane as well.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Lions Club service projects as well as KY School for the Blind's Winsight camp, which provides an opportunity for blind and vision impaired high school students to experience life on a college campus, but in a safe and secure environment. This camp empowers these students and can foster self-confidence that can transform college from a dream to a reality.

This is a family friendly, casual event. Please reach out if you have any questions. Contact any Murray Lion for tickets, or follow the PayPal link below to purchase digitally and have your name added to the guest list. Just send the total ticket amount, and there will be an opportunity for you to add guests names on the following page.
