Doggie Day Spa and Pet ID Clinic

The ONLY Doggie Day Spa & Pet ID Clinic of the fall semester is Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at A. Carman Animal Health Center on College Farm Road across from Calloway County High School.

Murray State's Animal Health Technology/Pre-vet Club members will bathe your dog for $12, clean ears and trim nails for $10 or it's only $20 plus tax for "The Works" - bath, ear cleaning and nail trim. If it's too cool to have your outdoor dog bathed, consider bringing them by for a ear clearing and nail trim --- and especially for a microchip, if your dog doesn't already have one. Whatever you choose to do, it's a bargain!

**IMPORTANT**: Rabies certificate, either paper or digital copy, must be shown for all dogs 16 weeks of age an over. A rabies tag is NOT valid proof AND the rabies vaccination must have been given at least 28 days prior to Doggie Day Spa.

At the Doggie Day Spa, the Humane Society will be microchipping pets for only $15 each. There are no additional monthly or annual fees for the lifetime of the pet. A microchip the size of a grain of rice is inserted between the shoulder blades of a dog in a relatively painless and quick procedure. Each microchip transponder has a unique number which enables a shelter or veterinary clinic to scan the animal for this number which will be registered with a national database allowing the owner to be contacted when the pet is found. Local veterinary offices, the animal shelter and Humane Society have scanners to read these microchips as do most vets, animal shelters and humane societies across the country.

Attached is a flier about the Doggie Day Spa. Please print and post if you have a location.

The Humane Society will have canine Wisdom Panel DNA test kits for sale for $90. The cheek swab can be done for you that day or the kit can be completed and mailed later. Besides being fun to know what breeds make up your dog, the information can be valuable for your veterinarian in anticipating any health issues prevalent in certain breeds of dogs. A DNA test kit makes a unique gift for friends and family who have always wondered what breed mix their dog might be. A benefactor donates the DNA test kits so the entire $90 goes directly to support the animals.

Share this email with your friends and family! No appointment needed. You can participate in only one or in all of the offerings. See you there! If you have any questions, just ask!
