This Stolen Country of Mine with Cinema International

  • 208 Faculty Hall 1375 Chestnut Street Murray, KY, 42071 United States (map)

In this documentary, Ecuadorian eco-guerrillas fight a massive Chinese mining project while a crusading journalist (who was assassinated the year after the film’s release) tries to expose government corruption. With shockingly intimate footage, we follow the activists through tense encounters with the police and an actual raid on the mining complex. Presented as part of The Spanish Film Club series with the support of Pragda and the Secretary of State for Culture of Spain.

In Spanish with subtitles. NR, 93 minutes.

Cinema International hosts post-film discussions after every screening. Admission is free. Screenings begin at 7:30 P.M. in Faculty Hall 208.
