Catie will have the dye buckets ready! Join us for a day of working with the ancient Japanese technique of indigo dyeing. We’ll fold, bind, stitch, twist and compress fabric to create beautiful patterns in fabric. All materials and supplies will be available for use and/or purchase. We will be working with dye, so be mindful of work clothes. Stations set up for previous Shibori workshop goers to come by and play. This will be a blend of open studio for those who are familiar with Shibori & an instructional time for beginners.
Beginners: Please come to the instructional time from 10-11am & learn the process of Shibori dye. Your materials will be included for the $30 adult or $20 student price. Then you are welcome to stay as long as you need to create your projects.
Intermediate: For those who are familiar with Shibori, you are welcome to come & go anytime between 10-2, but you should allow at least an hour to complete a project. You may bring your own materials, but stick with natural fabrics (plant or animal) instead of synthetic. (Blends will work ok.) Catie will also have materials for purchase if you like.
