The Railsplitter @ The Homeplace

  • Homeplace 1850s Working Farm 4512 The Trace Dover, TN, 37058 United States (map)

11:00 am - 1:00pm– The Railsplitter Before “Honest Abe” Lincoln was a lawyer and then president, he was known to be a “railsplitter”. Rail Splitting was known to be hard, self-reliant work, that was necessary for the good upkeep of farm life. Join us on the farm as we dust off our hands, grab a maul and start hammering away at logs to make the fence rails necessary to protect our gardens and crops.
