WE HAVE MADE SEVERAL CHANGES FOR 2024 TO WORKSHOPS AND THE LOCATION SO PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION THORUGHLY!

WORKSHOP WILL START AT 9:00AM on FRIDAY and we try to end around 5:00PM. Doors will open at 8:30 AM and we will have donuts, coffee, and juice available.

---ANY MACHINE IS WELCOME; WORKING, NOT WORKING, EVEN FROZEN!---

Most questions can be answered by reading our "Workshop Details" page but you can email or call if you have questions that you can't find an answer for.

---IF YOU NEED PARTS FOR YOUR MACHINE,--- please contact us at least 30 days before the date of the workshop. We will be placing an order to stock up on parts. Hopefully, this year, suppliers will stop making excuses and get parts shipped when we order them.

LOCATION AND LOCAL INFORMATION This will be a 2-day event held at our location at The Ribbon Shed, 1306 S 12th St., Murray, KY 42071. The class size is limited to 10 maximum machines.

WORKSHOP TOPICS

We will cover (but not limited to) the following:

1. Disassembling using proper tools, methods, and tricks

2. Derusting- using Evaporust Rust Remover and other methods

3. Breaking loose frozen parts or frozen machines

4. Polishing- both paint and bright parts.

5. Removing/replacing electrical components (if applicable)

6. Reassembling

7. Threading machines without a manual

8. Timing and other necessary adjustments/repairs

9. Making her sew again.

10. Tips, tricks, and instruction for prepping a machine for repaint (we will not be painting machines!)

(Activities subject to change depending on time restraints) --

THIS WILL NOT BE A "MAINTENANCE" CLASS BUT A DISASSEMBLE, REASSEMBLE, CLEAN, POLISH, AND REPAIR. YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO REMOVE EVERY PIECE OF THE MACHINE NECESSARY TO REFURBISH, INSIDE AND OUT, HOW TO REASSEMBLE AND ADJUST, AND MAKE IT SEW AGAIN*. Due to time constraints we usually do not remove upper main shaft or feed dog linkages.
