2022 Murray State University Basketball Camps
Youth Camp
July 25-28th
Boys and Girls: ages 7-entering 7th grade.
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Total cost: 195, with a $95 deposit due by July 1st
Murray State University is looking forward to another great summer of basketball camp, and is focused on helping their students skills grow, while providing a fun environment.
Lunch is provided Monday-Wednesday, and camp will end at 12:00 noon on Thursday.

Summer Art Studios for Youth at the Murray Art Guild
The Murray Art Guild has provided several classes for kids to take this summer, from woodworking to making bowls they have it all! To register for any of these studios or for more information please follow the link.

Woodworking
Students will have a fun experience working on a stick furniture project, building a table. We will go through the basics of learning the tools & techniques.
Ages 7-18 from 1-3 p.m. All Age Class

Weave A Scarf!!
Students will weave their own scarf from start to finish as they learn the process of weaving on rigid heddle &/or floor looms. Pick from the following color choices shown to the right: 1. Ocean breeze, 2. Bubblegum, 3. Blue Jeans, or 4. Lavender rainbow & let us know on your online registration form!
Ages: 10-18

Summer Art Party 2022
The Murray Art Guild will be holding their annual Summer Art Party! on Friday July 1 from 6-8 p.m.
There will be crafts and entertainment for people of all ages throughout the evening. There will also be a membership drive happening! So make sure to come out to support and make local art this July! For more information closer to the date please visit the Murray Art Guild’s page.

Murray Calloway County Pool and Spray Park
The Pool and spray park have been set to open on Saturday, June 25th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Season tickets will be available for purchase at the pool.

Murray Calloway County Parks Day Camp 2022

This year's camp will be directed by Joetta Kelly and an enthusiastic staff. We are looking forward to a wonderful time! Children can be dropped off and picked up at the Playhouse Deck each morning. When the day is finished, day camp participants are to be picked up at the pool as that is the last activity of the day. Please send your child in their swimsuit or pack it in a plastic bag that is clearly labeled. Also include sunscreen and a towel. Athletic shoes are requested for playing games. In the event of rain without storms, we will continue at the pavilion. In the event of storms please come to get your child. If it is storming the morning of camp we will not meet. Check Facebook and/or the email your used for registration about cancellations.
Registrations are open for both camp sessions!!
Camp 1) June 27th-29th for Kindergarten-8yrs old, 9am to 3pm
Camp 2) July 6th-8th for ages 9-12yrs old, 9am-3pm
Camp Fees: $30 a week, or $10 a day

Kentucky Dance Institute Camp: Murray State Family Folk Dance Camp
July 17-23rd
Since its founding in 1953, the Kentucky Dance Institute has helped to spread the joy of folk dancing to all ages. We bring together instructors and dancers from all across the globe to share the magic that dancing together can bring. KDI values inclusion, building life-long friendships and celebrating life through dance.

We strive to keep our tuition low and provide multiple options ensuring everyone can attend. All packages include lodging, meals, all daily classes and evening dances as well as the afterparties and games.

We are monitoring and preparing for all local COVID-19 guidelines. If we do need to cancel, everyone who registered will have their deposits refunded in full or have the option to use it next year.

Elementary School Summer Reading Program
From Tuesday, June 14th - Tuesday, June 28th
Come on out to The Murray Women’s Clubhouse at 704 Vine St to participate in the Summer reading program from 10-11:30 every Tuesday, 14th-28th.
There will be snacks, free books, book checkouts, and AR tests available!
So come on out this summer for some reading fun!!

The Matt Lodge Day Camp is about playing soccer and learning the technical and tactical aspects in a fun environment. Day camp is catered to all skill levels with the emphasis on improving as an individual player. We will help you develop as a player in the following aspects of the game: Passing and Receiving, Finishing, skill and turning moves, fun soccer-related games, agility/footwork and small-sided games.
Campers that stay for the full day will eat lunch; go to the swimming pool followed by additional soccer training.

Maple Street Market Cooking Classes

LIL' CHEF - AGES 4-7 WITH ADULT

It’s never too early to introduce your littlest chef to kitchen fundamentals and our Lil’ Chef series of classes lets you do just that.  You will help your little chef measure, mix, and pour and see their excitement as they learn basic kitchen skills and food safety principles.

WHAT TO EXPECT 

  • Each participant will be required to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement for each class they attend. Participants under 18 years of age must have the Hold Harmless Agreement signed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Participants must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Classes are 1 to 1 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted.

  • You will work with other students in groups of 2-4.

  • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class.

  • All participants must be dressed appropriately for the kitchen

    • Comfortable closed toe shoes

    • Long hair tied back so it doesn’t come into contact with food or food preparation surfaces

    • Long pants are preferred. No shorts or sleeveless shirts please

    Hey kids! Come check out some Wild and Wacky Cool Critters! Enjoy live animal presentations, create crafts, play games and more! Learn about all kinds of exciting and unusual animals from the scientists and naturalists who study them. Make a day of it and bring a picnic lunch.

    $7 for ages 5 & up; free for ages 4 and under. Event will be held rain or shine. A complete schedule of activities and this year's guest presenters will be online by June 1.




Spring Learning Series Woodlands Nature Station

Fun learning opportunities are available to homeschoolers at the Woodlands Nature Station this spring! Join a naturalist at our picnic pavilion to explore a different nature topic each month. Every session will include a take home item!

$3/participant (does not include Nature Station admission). Pre-registration is required, and program is limited to 25 participants. Call 270-924-2020 to reserve your spot.

June 23:
This month is all about the butterflies! Homeschoolers can learn identification characteristics of butterflies by painting a replica of a native butterfly. Afterwards we will take our bingo cards and go on a butterfly hike to see how many butterflies we can find!
